Rear Window is, by far, my favorite Hitchcock movie. That’s saying something considering there are at least 10 Hitchcock movies I would give five stars to.* Rear Window is also to thank for the title of my blog. So, of course I’m going to post the latest installment of why the internet and technology are so wonderful. The video creator, Jeff Desom, explains (via Slate) how he created the video:
I dissected all of Hitchcock’s Rear Window and stitched it back together in After Effects. I stabilized all the shots with camera movement in them. Since everything was filmed from pretty much the same angle I was able to match them into a single panoramic view of the entire backyard without any greater distortions. The order of events stays true to the movie’s plot.
